The objective is for ION to own the social and cultural conversation, connecting communities virtually and physically, across the nation and potentially globally.
Using digital and new media, in a groundbreaking way, alongside traditional methods of communication: event participation, print and broadcast media.
The ION project will utilise the BBC Big Screens to promote the project and create an interactive platform for the public to engage with the project. There are currently 16 Screens, which had a potential audience of 850,000 people in 2009.
